Winter

Those of you who don't know, I'm in a creative writing class, and it is awesome! We are just finishing up our poetry unit, and even though we already have at least 2 amazing poets in the family (todd and dad), I'm going to risk it anyway and share one with you.

Winter

Oxygen level low
Praying hard
In the snow
Angels marred
With a stone's throw

Blink twice
and the sun's away
low light--
A darkening day

Praying hard
A singing soul,
Yet failing heart
and falling snow--

Life level low

Let me know what you think. I like it, but I welcome your comments. If you have questions, ask! Love you all!

Buzz, it sounds like you're doing well. I like the poem --of course I am not a poetry person in the least, and there's always stuff I don't get. You have some good images here, and I can always appreciate the alliteration in the last line. I can also appreciate the contrast --now that Spring is upon us here in Boise, I can definitely say that the life level isn't low. It makes me glad to leave winter behind, even if it wasn't as cold as yours there in "Ice-burg." Thanks for sharing!

Great poem--I especially like the very subtle snow angel allusion.

Yes, I feel the whole 'life level low' at the end of a Rexburg winter, too. I love every second of sunshine we get!!!
